Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete
The NFL franchise issued a statement on Wednesday evening stating they have knowledge of claims of abuse made public in online accounts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and were in communication with the NFL.
The team omitted the name of the player by name in their announcement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.
Claims Shared on Social Media
Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention Rice directly, posted a set of images on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.

No official complaints were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Player's Prior Legal Issues
The receiver missed the first six games of this season due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that left several individuals hurt. Rice was given 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to felony charges.
On the field, Rice concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Kansas City went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
