Dominant Sabalenka Secures Consecutive WTA Player of the Year Awards.
The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second straight year.
The twenty-seven-year-old captured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – which included retaining the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles triumph.
A Year of High Performance
Across the season, Sabalenka competed in a tour-best nine finals, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The star player also won the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She remained the whole season as the world number one, concluding 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.
In July, she achieved the status of being the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.
Historic Achievements
Sabalenka ended the season with a 63-12 match record, and collected a historic eleven million pounds in tournament winnings.
She earned almost eighty percent of the votes cast by international tennis media.
Later this month, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match with the aim of "raise women's tennis to a new level".
