Grid Details
Just sixteen vehicles on the grid. It was another bad qualifying for Lewis Hamilton: after coming twentieth and final in Las Vegas, resulting in an eighth position in the main race, he failed to make it out of Q1 once more on the previous day. Ferrari have as a result adjusted to his car configuration and so he begins from the pit lane.
Aston Martin's Stroll and the Alpine duo of Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto are all starting from the same position.

Team Standings
It's not all about the individual championship: The team have run away with the team championship but the team, with a 40-point lead over their rivals, are aiming to secure the runner-up position this weekend. Right, just over 20 minutes remaining till the short race gets under way. Barring disaster, it's greatest value is as a preview of future events, instead of significant in its itself, with only eight points available to the winner. However, the runner-up spot here was enough for the driver to become champion in a prior season.
